Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture. It can improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, and other skin-related concerns and conditions.
The procedure uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently exfoliate the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it.

What to expect after microdermabrasion
There is little to no downtime after microdermabrasion. You should be able to resume your daily activities immediately.
You can expect to see noticeable results immediately after the procedure. The number of microdermabrasion sessions needed will depend on the severity of your skin concerns as well as your expectations.
Contraindications for Microdermabrasion:
Moderate to severe inflammatory acne, rosacea, cold sore breakout, a rash, wound, or other skin irritation, you’re using topical retinoids, or you are prone to keloid scars.
In case you have taken the acne medicine (aka isotretinoin) in the past 6 months may need to wait before having microdermabrasion, because an increased risk of complications such as scarring.
Do not use Retin-A or other exfoliating creams 24 to 72 hours (1 to 3 days) prior to your treatment. Avoid sun tanning or tanning creams/sprays for at least a week before treatment. You must NOT have recently had laser surgery or any other exfoliation procedures as chemical peel. Other skin procedure, such as injections, should wait two to three weeks before undergoing microdermabrasion. Also you should also refrain from waxing or tanning the skin to be treated for a few weeks prior to microdermabrasion treatment.
Other contraindications: pregnancy and breastfeeding, active cancer, sensory disturbances, metal implants in the area of the procedure, pacemaker, and epilepsy.
